BRAMASOLE BUTIQUE HOTEL
IZMIR, TURKEY - 2016

This project is located in the most popular vacation village in Izmir called ‘Alacati’. It is famous of it’s yellow-white stones and exedra’s. Every building is made of these stones and most buildings have the same colorful window openings to maintain the texture of this village.
If you divide the word ‘Brama sole’ It means ‘to desire the sun’. This name was selected from the movie called ‘Under The Tuscan Sun’. A divorced young lady goes to Siena,Tuscany for a trip and during that trip she sees an old House named ‘Bramasole’. She feels an incredible desire to buy this house to find happiness. After she buys the house she hopes that this house will bring her happiness and it does in the end. Just like the movie this hotel represents ‘the sun’ and ‘hope’ for everyone who enters.
In the center facade of the Hotel there is a gap with cactus plants. These plants have chosen because of their love to the sun. By leaving the background blank of the gap brings a feeling as if it is a minimalist painting. This is a collaboration project with 'Balbay Architecture studio'.
The Building has 4 floors that includes basement and the attic floor.
